Slime Chunk Finder

Find Minecraft Java slime chunks from a world seed with a local interactive map. Supports signed 64-bit and text seeds, negative coordinates, block ranges and nearest chunk coordinates.

World & position

Java Edition only. Enter a signed 64-bit seed or the text used to create the world.

In Java, slime chunk spawning is below Y=40 and still depends on space, player distance and the mob cap. Swamp slimes use different rules.

Guide

How to use

  1. 1Enter your Java world seed and current block X/Z coordinates.
  2. 2Choose a map radius. Green cells are slime chunks.
  3. 3Select a chunk to see its block range, or copy a nearby chunk center.

Good to know

Java Edition only

The Java slime chunk algorithm uses the world seed and chunk coordinates. Bedrock uses a different algorithm and is not supported here.

Finding the seed

Use /seed with permission, or copy the numeric seed from your world settings. If you enter text, its Java String hash is used; use the numeric seed when available.

Spawn conditions

Slime chunk spawning is below Y=40. Space, mob caps, player distance and difficulty still apply; a green chunk does not guarantee an immediate spawn.

Questions

Do negative coordinates work?

Yes. Block positions are floored when converted to chunks, and the seed calculation reproduces Java integer overflow and its 48-bit random generator.
