Good to know

8:1 horizontal scale

Overworld X and Z are divided by 8; Nether X and Z are multiplied by 8. Height does not scale. Negative block coordinates round down: −1 / 8 targets block −1.

Portal selection

Existing nearby portals and vertical distance can affect linking. This tool calculates the matching position, not the game’s full portal search.

Does Y matter?

Y is not scaled, but portal height can affect which existing portal is chosen. Keep the two portal heights close where practical.
